ICT

The ICT Department has a dedicated suite of the latest computers running a wide variety of applications. It is the aim of the ICT Department to ensure that everybody has access to the advantages of ICT and that everybody finds ICT accessible. We are growing year by year as the use of computers expands around the school and in other departments taking in the latest technologies and developing skills needed to meet the demand for ICT outside of school

ict001.jpgICT is studied from Year 4 to Year 11 with an option of GCSE ICT. For more details view detailed subject options by viewing the Option Blocks webpage. From Year 4 onwards pupils build skills steadily from basic word processing and typing skills to industrial control processes, bridge building technology and web design.

The computers are available for personal study and research and a number of laptops enable pupils to conduct research and produce work for other departments outside of the ICT suite.

The Department recently introduced the ECDL (European Computer Driving License) as an additional qualification. All pupils in years 10 and 11 study ECDL including those taking GCSE ICT.
