Swimming Information
Red Housel has a very active and successful swimming team, being part of the curriculum for Years 4, 5 and 6.
Many
of our pupils are keen and talented swimmers who belong to clubs in the
area. It is very much thanks to the work done by those organisations
with the swimmers that we are able to offer an outlet for their
interests and talents here in school.
Despite not owning our own
pool, Red House does have access to first class swimming facilities.
The abundance in team spirit and a wealth of talent allows our boys and
girls to enjoy taking part in local swimming events and help raise
funds for charitable concerns. This year Red House pupils took part in
a gala ‘swimathon’ in aid of The Stroke Association. The event, ‘Stroke
4 Stroke’, was held as part of a national initiative to raise awareness
and funds for people affected by this debilitating condition. Gillian
Brady, Regional Fundraising Manager for the Stroke Association,
presented goody bags to all the entrants and expressed gratitude and
delight at the efforts of the students involved. Well done to all
involved and for giving up so much of your time to make a difference.
