Red House pupils were in a celebratary mood after receiving an excellent set of GCSE results this year.

ANOTHER YEAR OF EXCELLENT GCSE RESULTS AT RED HOUSE SCHOOL

Fantastic GCSE results have, for the seventh year in succession, delighted pupils, teachers and parents at Red House School in Norton. Following the high standards attained in 2007 which saw the school ranked in the top 200 schools in Great Britain (Government Key Stage 4 Achievement and Attainment Tables) and top independent school in the North of England (Sunday Times 2007 Parent Power league), Red House has achieved GCSE excellence yet again in 2008.

Hard work by pupils and staff resulted in outstanding GCSE results with 98% of all pupils gaining 5 C+ grades and over 95% of all passes gained were grade C and above. In addition, over 82% received subject grades at A* to B. Elation by pupils and staff was hard to hide as Red House GCSE results continue to reflect the high standards of achievement by pupils in their examinations.

Red House School is the premier coeducational independent school in the Tees Valley providing an all round education, for children aged between 3 and 16. Teaching excellence, first class facilities and a sympathetic and caring environment, has made 2008 yet another triumph for pupils.

The class of 2008 were overwhelmed on Thursday 21st August when they received their results. Of particular note are two top performing students, Abigail Hirst and Kathryn Douglass who both received 12 GCSE’s at A/A* grade, each attaining 10 and 9 A* grades respectively, a remarkable achievement.

Headmaster, Mr Alex Taylor commented, “I am delighted that the pupils’ enthusiasm, commitment and hard work has been rewarded by a thoroughly outstanding set of results across the board. We are extremely fortunate in having so many excellent teachers who dedicate so much of their time in helping all the pupils to achieve their potential at school, with the support of parents. I would like to congratulate all of the pupils on their tremendous achievements and join with them in recognising the support, encouragement and high quality teaching that they have received from the staff at the school. A thorough well done to all involved”
