Red House School ranked 7th in Great Britain
Red House School continues to build on its GCSE success as the premier independent school in the Tees Valley by attaining a prestigious position in the Sunday Times League Tables, which have just been announced.
Ranked 7th from the entire database of Great Britain’s schools in the Sunday Times ‘Parent Power’ league tables (for Independent Secondary Schools with no/small sixth form), Red House is delighted to receive such a tremendous ranking in such a reputable educational league, which provides invaluable information to parents who want the best possible start in life for their children. A school’s place in the Sunday Times league tables is determined by the percentage of it’s students who achieve A and A* grades at GCSE, and A and B grades at A level. No complex statistical calculations are applied, the league standings being solely due to outright examination results.
Teaching excellence, first class facilities and a sympathetic and caring environment, has made 2008 yet another triumph for staff, pupils and parents as a fantastic set of 2008 GCSE results saw 58.3% of GCSE entries returning A* or A grades. Perhaps the real test of a premier school is the ability to achieve a consistently high ranking in the tables year by year. Red House School has received a high ranking over the last four years, moving up to 7th place from 8th place in 2007.
The Sunday Times Parent Power is the only fully searchable database of Britain’s top 2,000 state and independent schools. Parent Power is a vital first reference point for everyone with school-age children. As well as providing up-to-date information on examination results, Parent Power provides links to school websites and the latest inspection reports to help make your decision an informed one. The result is tables that reward those schools with the strongest profile in the senior examination – and therefore those schools with the best track record for getting students into our leading universities.
Headmaster, Mr Alex Taylor commented, “Red House School provides a warm and caring family environment in which pupils can excel. Coupled with dedicated teaching staff and close parental support, we are delighted and proud to have achieved such a high position in the Sunday Times League. I would like to congratulate all of the pupils on their tremendous achievements. A thorough well done to all involved”
