Nursery and Infant School

A warm welcome awaits your child at Red House Nursery and Infant School. Our caring, family atmosphere offers a safe, secure environment where children can build confidence, learn to take responsibility and achieve success. The calm, relaxed setting provides an ideal place for learning.

The early years of education form the cornerstone for achievement in all aspects of life. Here at Red House Independent School, with its excellent staff and facilities, the children develop the skills they need to participate in life with self assurance and purpose.

A recently formed unit houses our purpose-built Nursery, Reception and Year 1 Forms in bright, airy rooms. Years 2 and 3 are located in the Old Vicarage, a charming Georgian building, together with specialist rooms which include a state-of-the-art ICT suite, a library and a music room.Miss Joanna Everington - Head of the Nursery & Infant School

Children are admitted into Nursery from the start of the term in which they attain their third birthday. There is no assessment for entry into Nursery, though entry will be dependent upon the availability of places.  Children attending the Nursery Unit will automatically be registered to enter Reception the following year.  Proceeding into Reception is dependant upon a satisfactory assessment during the Nursery year.

Nursery vouchers are accepted. Automatic transfer to the Main School at the end of Year 3 ensures a smooth transition. Small class sizes ensure a close, supportive relationship between staff and pupils.

From the essentials in literacy and numeracy to exciting extra-curricular activities, Red House offers a broad, balanced and enriched curriculum; the ideal place for your child to flourish.

Give your child the best advantage as they embark upon their academic career by joining us at Red House. You are most welcome to come and see what we have to offer.

“Pupils achieve high standards by the time they leave the Nursery and Infant School”, ISI Inspection Report, December 2005.
