Nursery & Infant School
Year 3
Year 3 is an important year at Nursery & Infant School, where previous Key Stage 1 skills are consolidated with the introduction of Key Stage 2. This is a year where we aim to provide a happy and secure transition to Year 4 and Prep. School. In addition, the pupils take Games with Year 4 pupils at the Main School. Year 3 children attend Main School assemblies and activities such as visits by drama group, 'Team Players'.
Children are presented with a wide range of opportunities to
attend drama groups, music workshops, science workshops and historical
re-enactments by visiting groups. All Year 3 children take part in
school Choir activities and play a role in end of term services.
Year 3 forms stay together into Year 4 in Prep. School and are tested using the optional QCA Year 3 Tests during the summer term. Targets are set for the end of the Key Stage at Year 6.
