We welcome the opportunity to meet with children and parents wishing to join Red House School on an individual basis.
Admissions to the school are considered at any stage of your child’s education. The renowned ethos and spirit of Red House School is captured within school life each day which we welcome you to experience first-hand.
Nursery & Infant School Entrance Assessment
There are no entrance assessments for Early Years Foundation Stage.
Prior to confirmation of your child starting with Red House School, in Nursery or Reception Class, we will discuss your child’s current developmental attainments and identify any individual requirements. We welcome children from the term before they turn 3 years old.
Children wishing to join Red House School in Years 1 – 3 will be assessed on academic potential along with age appropriate activities to assess fine motor skills and their ability and eagerness to learn. This is carried out during a relaxed and friendly taster day within the school.
Prep & Senior School Entrance Assessment
Children wishing to join Red House School in Years 4 – 11 will undertake an age appropriate entrance assessment in verbal, non-verbal, quantitative and spatial reasoning.
The assessment is designed to assess your child’s potential to engage with a curriculum targeted towards 10 GCSEs at grades 5 – 9 in Year 11. These assessments form part of your child’s taster day within the school.
A Headteacher reference from the current school also forms an important part of the admissions process.
The best way to capture the friendly ethos of Red House School is to experience it first-hand. Our Headmaster, Mr Ken James, and Head of Nursery & Infant School, Simon Haywood, would like to personally welcome you to the school.
Claire Bellerby, Head of Admissions, is always on hand to answer any questions you may have or to arrange a time for you to visit the School. Mrs Bellerby will be happy to talk to you about the admissions process and how to register your child.
We look forward to meeting you.
