Dear Parents

It was such a shame to have to cancel the Whole School photograph this week but the photographers were concerned it would rain during the period of time it takes to assemble the whole school.  Therefore, we will be reconvening in the summer term (before the pupils in Year 11 leave) when we hope the weather will be kind to us.

PTA AGM – Wednesday 2October

Please see the letter from last week with details of the AGM of your PTA.  We look forward to seeing you there although there has been a change to the venue: we will now be meeting in the Senior School library at 7pm.

Race Night – Friday 4 October

Thank you to those families who have already secured their tickets.  The booking form can be found here.

Term Dates

Term Dates for next year can now be found on the school website (or by clicking here).  They very much follow the pattern of previous years so will, hopefully, present few problems.

Hello Yellow Day – Thursday 10 October

The whole school will be supporting the charity Young Minds which supports mental well-being in young people.  As you are aware, this is very much one of our focuses moving forward and I am delighted the children wish to support the endeavours of this charity.  A letter with further details is attached.

Senior School European Cake Off – Thursday 26 September

Thank you to those parents who supported the children with this event.  We were inundated with delicious and beautifully decorated cakes which made judging them very difficult.  We also raised funds for a very worthwhile charity (Macmillan Cancer Support).

CEO Sleepout (Middlesbrough & Stockton) – Monday 11 November

Many thanks to those families who have already sponsored my efforts to help the homeless.  Should you wish to do so you can sponsor me by clicking here.

Taster Week – 7-11 October 2019

Please continue to encourage friends to bring their children to see us.  All they need to do is contact Claire Bellerby in Admissions to book time in school.

Grease

Plans for our next musical are progressing nicely.  I thought it worth letting you know that we will be performing the adapted version for schools which ensures the script and lyrics are age appropriate.

Very best of luck to those taking part in the PTA golf and BBQ tomorrow.  I hope the weather is kind and the golf less than frustrating!

With best wishes

Ken James
