The snow yesterday aptly marked the beginning of Advent and put smiles on the faces of the pupils (if not the cleaners). Christmas trees have also ‘sprouted’ so Advent is well and truly with us. The Christmas card competition is being judged and no doubt you will all appreciate the efforts of the winner when it lands on your mat!
Thank you to those who attended this event on Wednesday. I am delighted to welcome Neil Simpson to the governing body. I would also like to thank David Henderson for the exceptional contribution he has made to the board as he ‘retires’. Being a governor is not always an easy task but we have a wonderful balance of talented parents all working to ensure your school is the best it can be. Please feel free to thank them for their efforts when you next see them.
Just a polite reminder: our Christmas productions in the Nursery & Infant School and Prep School are being filmed. Please find an order form attached below.
Norton Sports Charity
As many of you will know, Red House works in partnership with this charity. We are benefitting from using their new astro and are also looking to make use of their forest school. Therefore, we very much wish to support their endeavours. They have made the final shortlist for the Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation Awards and hope to gain further funding from this charity. Please support their efforts by voting for them before 11 December: www.teessidecharity.org.uk
I fully appreciate the difficulties associated with parking around the School. However, please can I ask you to park with consideration for our neighbours. In particular, please ensure vehicles do not block (even partially) driveways.
Un-named Sports Kit & Clothing
We have a number of unnamed items in school (20 blue shirts, 10 pairs of trousers, to name but two sets). Please can you ensure all items of clothing are labelled so that items can be returned to forgetful individuals.
I’m rehearsing ‘9 to 5’ the musical in Whitby all weekend (hopefully we’ll have a show worth watching next week!). I hope the weather is kind – I’d hate to be stuck in Whitby on Monday although perhaps colleagues are now praying for snow!
Have a great weekend.
With best wishes
