It’s been a rather varied week for me. Apologies for any parents with a child at the Oliver! rehearsal last night: I hope the cockney accents the children brought home were not too annoying. I loved ‘workshopping’ one of the songs with the children and I’m sure the show in the summer is going to be superb.
The PTA would be extremely grateful for any cake donations for the cake stall to be held at the Fashion Show on Friday 3 March. Cupcakes, muffins, brownies are all ideal: easy to balance with a cup of coffee (or glass of wine from the bar!). Please ensure nuts are not used as decoration or ingredients: we have some pupils and parents with allergies. Cakes can be left in school next Thursday evening or Friday morning (they can be left at either school office). Thank you for supporting this PTA initiative.
Fashion Show – Friday 3 March
There are still tickets available for this event and, now that you know cake is available, there’s an added incentive to attend!
Site Clearing – Prep & Senior School
Anyone visiting the P&S School site might have noticed a little deforestation occurred during the holidays. We’re trying to keep the ivy in check whilst also discovering how much land we actually have on this side of the road. This should make future planning a little easier.
Head of Years 4-6
It’s with a mixture of pleasure and sadness that I announce Miss Tiffany White has been appointed Head of Juniors and Infants at Newcastle School for Boys from September 2017. Tiffany has done an excellent job managing Years 4-6 at Red House and we are delighted her talents have been recognised by NSB.
I am delighted to be able to announce that Miss Claire Thompson, Assistant Head of our Nursery & Infant School, will be taking over from Tiffany. No doubt this will make the transition for the Year 3 children smoother than ever in September.
Mother’s Day Photos – Years 4-6
Miss White would love to receive family photos from children in Years 4-6 for the Mother’s Day assembly. Don’t be too embarrassed by hair styles of the past – you will not be alone!
We have recently changed the type of bank account we use. Bank transfers are free but cheques are now more expensive to process. Therefore, I would encourage you to do as much business as possible with school via bank transfer (using an easily recognisable code so we know who has paid what). This will ensure your money goes a little bit further. Our details remain the same:
- Sort Code – 30-98-13,
- Account Number – 01776186
- Bank – Lloyds Bank
Sainsbury’s Active Kids Vouchers
The N & I School is collecting these vouchers. Please send any you collect to Mrs Green by the end of June.
With best wishes
