The children continue to prepare thoroughly for their Christmas productions and, no doubt, many of you now know the songs. I look forward to seeing you all next week as the festivities begin.
Carols and Cocoa
We traditionally begin our festivities with Carols & Cocoa which is being held next Thursday at 7pm. Although we are not issuing tickets, please email Mr McReddie (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you plan to attend and we would like to see you all in festive attire.
These are all being held next Friday and further details can be found on the school calendar.
Mrs Jane Jackson
As some of you know, Mrs Jackson has decided to leave Red House at Christmas after almost fifteen years of excellent service. It’s been a difficult decision for her but I know this is an exciting time for her as she plans her future in rather warmer climes. I’m delighted Mrs Jill Kears will be covering Mrs Jackson’s PE lessons from January. Jill is known to the children: she helps to run our sports’ camps and has provided cover for Jane in the past.
Mrs Vicky Jackson will be taking over from Jane in the Performing Arts Club and has already been introduced to the children. I’m sure Vicky will continue Jane’s excellent work.
Ms Sally Kitching
Sally will be joining the English department in January. She will be visiting on Monday and will have an opportunity to experience some lessons at Red House and also meet her new tutor group. I’m sure she will receive a very warm welcome.
Last call for unwanted items of winter clothing please. Coats, jumpers, hats, gloves and scarves will all be gratefully received and should be left at either office by the end of Wednesday.
You may have heard some schools have closed because of the norovirus. I’m grateful we have not had to do so, but I thought the advice below might help you ensure we do not: https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/norovirus/
Our annual AGM was held on Wednesday. I would like to welcome Dr Fiona Hunt to School Council and thank Mrs Amy Witham and Mr Stephen Craggs for their service to School Council as they officially stand down.
I hope you have a lovely weekend. I will be reading reports for most of it which will give me an excellent insight into the achievements of the children. The reports will be made available to most year groups next Friday.
With best wishes
