a group of children dressed as angels in their Christmas performance

Dear Parents,

What a wonderful end to the term it has been.  I have thoroughly enjoyed our carol services and seeing the children enjoying the festivities too.  After all this partying, I think the children need a holiday!

Clothing Appeal

Thank you so much to those parents who have donated clothing.  The items have been well received by the school we are supporting and your generosity has also led to pupils from another school benefiting too.

Sports Camp & Holiday Club

Please remember that both will be held on the Senior School site.

Year 11

We have a very important six months ahead of us and I have stressed with the pupils the importance of balance over the Christmas holidays.  Many of the pupils put a tremendous amount of work into preparing for their mocks.  It is vital for these pupils to undertake a period of relaxation and I encourage you to encourage them to relax a little over the holidays.  Those pupils who put less effort into their mocks would do well to spend time over Christmas consolidating their notes so that they are in a strong position when they return in January.  And remember: we only ever want the children to fulfil their potential.  We’re not looking for academic miracles; we just wish to see the children do their best.

I hope you have a wonderful time over the festive period.  We’ve asked the children to show their thanks and appreciation for all that you do so please encourage them to help with the numerous tasks to be undertaken over Christmas.

I’ll be spending time with family and heading down south for a long overdue catch up with god-children and friends.  The office staff and I will be away from school for two weeks but, as always, I can be contacted by email to deal with emergencies.

Thank you for the cards and gifts which my colleagues and I have received. A thank you is always enough but the gifts are very much appreciated too.

I would also like to thank you for your support in 2018 and I look forward to watching the children flourish even more in 2019.

With best wishes

Ken James
