Three Red House School pupils stood holding cakes that they have bought to raise funds for Red Nose Day

Dear Parents,

By time you receive this email, I’ll be immersed in outdoor education activities with Year 6. As I’ve said before, it’s a wonderful way to build up resilience in our young people and I encourage all the children to participate.

I’ve been an absent Headmaster this week. I was asked to undertake an inspection in Gloucestershire. Whilst I do not like to be away from school, inspections give an excellent insight into what’s happening in other schools. And of course we’re expecting an inspection team soon; it was a first-rate way to prepare for their arrival.  My thanks to Mrs Blyth and Mr Haywood for looking after the school in my absence.

Comic Relief/Red Nose Day
Many congratulations to the children on raising just over £1000 for Comic Relief.

PTA Ball: Friday 10 May
A reminder that tickets are still available for this event and can be ordered using the order form here.

Wrap Around Care
Mrs Janet Cox, who has worked with the children in the Junior School for many years, is leaving us at Easter. I would like to thank her for the care she has shown to the children. We now have a vacancy for a Wrap Around Care Assistant; please let people know details can be found here.

Supervision of Children
Please can I remind you that children should not be left unsupervised when parents are attending school events and meetings. We cannot have children unsupervised in school or on the Green and will happily supervise children in Tea and Prep and Session 6. Thank you for your cooperation.

Next week will be as busy as usual with school playing at the Rosslyn Park 7s and numerous Easter celebrations. Who knows, even the Easter Bunny may be in school…

With best wishes

Ken James
