Dear Parents

It’s been lovely to see the children return to school and to hear about their adventures over the Christmas holidays.  The ski trip was also a great success and I would like to thank the staff who accompanied this visit.  Such trips simply wouldn’t be possible if staff were not prepared to give up their free time.

Deputy Head & Head of the Senior School

After 19 years of outstanding service to Red House, Mrs Carole Blyth has decided now is the right time to take (early) retirement.  Carole has been a wonderful support to me during my time here, ensuring I fully understand the Red House way, and she will be a difficult act to follow.  We are currently advertising her job (the advert is in the TES and on our website) and I do not doubt we will receive a significant number of applications.  I will let you know when a worthy successor has been appointed.

Senior School Trips

As you will be aware, we try and expose the children to a wide range of exciting visits to enhance their educational experience.  We thought it would be helpful to publish in advance a list of proposed major visits so that you can plan ahead and discuss with the children which visits will be most appropriate for them.  I fully understand not every child can go on every trip (I only went on one foreign trip during my time at senior school) so please do not feel pressurised to say yes to all – or any – of them.

Name Labels

We are continuing to find a large number of unnamed items of clothing discarded around the school.  Please ensure all belongings are clearly labelled so that the children can be ‘encouraged’ to take responsibility for them.

Open Morning

It’s our first Open Morning of 2020 on Saturday 25 January between 9am and 12 noon.  Please encourage your son/daughter to attend to help promote our wonderful school.  I’d also be grateful if you encourage friends and family to pop along and see us in action.

I hope you have a lovely weekend.

With best wishes
