Two Red House School pupils spend time in the Zen Den looking at a jar with coloured powder in it

Dear Parents

I do hope that your children have enjoyed the first few weeks of term; it has been an unusual time, to say the least, but your sons and daughters have taken all of the new school procedures in their stride. May I extend an especially warm welcome to all the new pupils and their families who have joined us – I hope that you feel as quickly part of the Red House family as I have.

Face Masks in School
From Monday, all pupils from Year 7-11, members of staff and visitors will be required to wear face masks in communal areas of school. Please click here to see further information from Mr James.

Pupil Absence and Setting Work
For pupils with an extended absence from school – for example, those who are self-isolating with COVID-19 symptoms, those who have received a positive coronavirus result or pupils who have a long-term health condition – teaching staff will set the work missed and preps over Teams and provide every opportunity for the pupils to access the lesson remotely. For pupils who are absent for a shorter time period (1-3 days) with non-COVID-19 symptoms and who are ill, we feel it is important for them to rest and recuperate and, therefore, work will not be sent home routinely.  Staff will, of course, be on hand when the children return to school to help them catch up with any necessary work (for example, by photocopying work completed by other pupils).

#HelloYellow Day: Friday 9 October 2020
Are your child’s yellow socks at the ready? It is just one week to go until #HelloYellow and I cannot wait to see the Red House community come together on Friday 9 October to support young people’s mental health and the charity Young Minds. Please remind the children to wear yellow and bring in £1.
