Pupil walking down a catwalk at the Red House School fashion show

Dear Parents

I’ve been in to see rehearsals for the Fashion Show and I know we’re in for a treat.  I will not be stepping anywhere near the catwalk for fear of inadvertently striking a Zoolander pose – that’s definitely one for the children – but I’m looking forward to seeing many of you there to watch this celebration of art at Red House.  I would also like to offer my gratitude to the members of the PTA who have worked tirelessly alongside staff to make this event a great success.

Swimming Gala – Years 4-6

Pupils in Years 4-6 are preparing for the House Swimming Gala on Wednesday 15 March at Billingham Forum. The gala will start at 11am and the final presentation is due to take place around 1pm. Our swimmers are very excited to have the opportunity to showcase their skills and all parents are warmly welcome to attend the event; save the date!

Readathon – Prep & Senior School

Details of this initiative are attached and I hope you feel able to support this event.  Whilst there is a fund-raising element to this, the key element for me is getting the children reading.  Technology is here to stay but this does not mean it should replace reading and they can certainly complement each other.

Red House is currently working on affiliations with a number of organisations, such as David Lloyds and the National Union of Farmers.  Should you or your company know of further partnerships which will help us, do let me know.

Thank you for continuing to recommend Red House to others.  Your enthusiasm for what we do and your recognition that we provide an excellent education continues to be heart-warming.  We do not wish to be any other school – we just want to be the best Red House possible.  Should you know of people whose children would benefit from being here, please point them in my direction; I’d love to meet them.  Again, we might be able to work with your employer here.  Do you have a relocation agent we could be put in touch with, for example?

Parking – Nursery & Infant School

We are all aware of the traffic issues around The Green and I fully understand the difficulty with finding a parking space on a morning.  However, please can I ask you not to drop off or park in the staff car park.  I need my colleagues to be able to get into school expediently and I wish to treat all parents equitably.  Should there be a specific reason why you need to drive into the staff car park, please speak to Simon Haywood in advance.  Many thanks for your co-operation with this.

With best wishes

Ken James
