It has, once again, been a busy week.  Year 11 seem to be taking their mock examinations in their stride and I hope they are rewarded for their efforts.  The other children remain busy balancing their studies with rehearsals for the plethora of up-and-coming festive events.

I had the ‘pleasure’ of witnessing my first ever Red House Pantomime yesterday.  I hope the children enjoyed it as much as I think they did.  Particular thanks to Mr Maude and Miss Warnock for their ‘willing’ participation in the dance off.  At least they know they will not be chosen for quite some time!

Reports – N & I School

It was a pleasure reading the reports this week.  They are affirmation of the excellent progress the children are making and will serve as a good starting point for conversations next Monday & Tuesday.

Website & Sports Fixtures

There is currently a problem with our website talking to the website which hosts our sports fixtures.  Without going too much into detail, any updates to fixtures are not reflected on the front page of our website.  I’ve been advised that the best thing to do is always use the Sports Fixtures & Results tab at the bottom of our home page.  Once on this page, I believe you can create a shortcut to your desktop/phone.

I’m also aware that some sports fixtures have not returned on time, albeit for very good reasons and I’m sorry to those parents who have had to wait.  We’re looking at ways we can communicate unavoidable delays to you moving forward.  Please ensure the school office has up-to-date contact details.

Letters to Parents

I have received a number of very positive comments about this weekly email and receiving letters as attachments.  Whilst I hope this is seen as an improvement, we need to continually review what we do.  I know some parents in the N&I School feel a little inundated with letters at this very busy time of year.  Should any parent have any suggestions as to how we can make communication even better, please do let me know.

I am going to be looking at our school uniform and how we can make improvements over the coming months.  This again is something of a hot topic amongst parents I believe.  In particular, the sports kit we currently have is sadly lacking and we need to provide the children with a kit of which they can be proud.  Please do drop me a line if you have any suggestions.

With best wishes
