Inspection Report

I am delighted to be able to share the report with you.  The inspection team was led by Dr Christopher Ray, former High Master of Manchester Grammar, assisted by two serving heads and a deputy head.

The report is divided up into two sections.  The first section covers regulatory compliance and it’s worth noting that this part of the report is rather dry: only judgements of ‘met’ or ‘not met’ can be recorded.  We met every standard, being fully compliant with all regulations.

The second part of the report covers the Educational Quality Inspection.  Value judgements are reached here by the inspection team in two areas (the achievements of pupils and their personal development) and four ratings are available to the inspectors: excellent, good, sound and unsatisfactory.  I am so pleased to be able to tell you that we were rated excellent in both categories.

There are, of course, points for us to dwell upon and we will continue to strive for excellence in all that we do.  However, to receive such positive affirmation from ISI for the work we are undertaking is very satisfying.  I would like to thank you for your input once again as well as expressing my appreciation to my colleagues, our governors and our children for the part they played.

The report can be accessed by clicking here.

Summer Uniform

Since the introduction of the new uniform, summer uniform is no longer compulsory.  I think it much more sensible for children and parents to be able to decide what’s appropriate to wear each morning given the ever changing English weather.

PTA Summer Fete & Raffle

Please can I ask you consider volunteering to help.  Without the support of more members of our community, the success of the event will depend on the good will of a few.  Please see the attached letter for further details.  The PTA has also send home some raffle tickets with the children.  We’d love you to support the event by buying these tickets or selling them to friends.  More tickets will be made available next week when we receive them from the printers.

Bugsy Malone

Don’t forget to book your tickets for our next musical extravaganza using  Please can cast members ensure rehearsals are their priority during the remaining weeks: we want to ensure we put on a wonderful show.

May Bank Holiday 2020

Some of you may have noted that the May bank holiday has been changed recently to coincide with VE celebrations.  Red House will be observing the new date (the Friday rather than the Monday) but we fully appreciate some of you may have already booked holidays and may require leave.  Please just drop us a line nearer the time to let us know if this is the case.

With best wishes

Ken James
