This week I was reminded of the words of Abraham Lincoln: “You can please some of the people all of the time and all of the people some of the time but you cannot please all of the people all of the time!” Below we’ve included an opportunity for you to make suggestions about a new school uniform. We look forward to receiving your comments and I hope to avoid the fate of dear old Abraham Lincoln!
Morning Drop Off
Please can I ask you not to drop the children off before 7.30am. It’s imperative we’re ready and able to fulfil our responsibilities towards the children and this only happens from 7.30am.
Songs from the Shows
Thank you to those parents who supported this event. There were some stunning performances and I was delighted by the depth of talent and the variety on show. Particular thanks to the staff too who worked tirelessly with the children.
I’m conscious that I have not circulated my FAQs yet regarding the restructure. This will be with you next week. As always, I continue to make myself available to anyone who would like to chat about Red House moving forward.
Joseph Tickets (Years 4-11)
Please ask the children if they are interested in going to the matinee performance on Thursday 21 December in Newcastle (transport will be provided from school). I will need to confirm numbers soon and would appreciate returns by next Friday.
You may have seen on social media recently of the first sample for the proposed Senior School uniform. Thank you to those parents who have shared their opinions on our first thoughts. We really do value your feedback and, therefore, we would like to gather opinions in a more formal way so that all parents have the opportunity to give their views.
We have created a short questionnaire. The link to the questionnaire was contained in your Pupil Post email. If you need the email re-sending please contact Mrs Heather Jefferson Tel: 01642 553370 Email: firstname.lastname@example.org. I would be grateful if you could complete the questionnaire by Wednesday 15 November. We will then analyse the data and, with a small focus group of pupils, review the main themes. Unfortunately we won’t be able to please everyone but we do want to create a uniform that the pupils will be proud to wear.
The questionnaire focuses on Years 1-11. We will be contacting parents regarding their thoughts on the Nursery and Reception uniform separately. However, parents with children in these year groups are still welcome to complete the questionnaire on the link above as it will affect their children in the near future! Year 10 (Year 11 next year) will not be affected by the changes.
With best wishes
