Dear Parents

Netball Nationals

I am delighted to be able to inform you that our Under 14 girls have qualified for the national netball finals.  To be placed in the final 18 for all schools (independent and non-independent) is a phenomenal achievement for our small – yet perfectly formed – school. The girls are the only team from Teesside and Durham to reach the finals and we’re very proud to be flying the flag for sport in the North East.

The Under 16 girls narrowly missed out on qualification and I know they are disappointed not to be able to replicate their success of 2018.  However, we are incredibly proud of the way they represented the school and to see them crowned the best team on Teesside.

The Under 14 girls will be travelling to the national finals in March.  There’s an opportunity for a business to support the girls through sponsorship (which will appear on their tour tops).  Should you know anyone who might be interested, please get in touch.

Please can I remind you that registration in the Senior School is 8.30am and 8.45am in the Junior School.  Teachers are also unable to chat to parents beyond these times but are always willing to meet at a mutually convenient time.  Many thanks for your co-operation.

Tea & Prep – Senior School

I reminded the children today that they must book in for a snack if they would like one before they attend their club (the snack is optional).  Pupils attending Tea & Prep must also sign up each morning.  Whilst we wish to be as flexible as possible with this provision, it’s also important we know how many children we are catering for.

Internet Safety Day: Tuesday 11 February

We will be talking to the pupils next month about staying safe on the internet.  Mr Butterfield, our Head of ICT, has also provided you with some helpful resources to help keep the children safe. They can be accessed here.

PTA Quiz Night: Friday 28 February

Places are filling up rather quickly for this event.  If you would like to book, please complete the form which can be found here.

Open Morning

We had a wonderful turnout last Saturday with numerous families showing interest in our school.  The children were as wonderful as ever: fine ambassadors for Red House.  Please remind your friends to come and see us sooner rather than later.

I hope you have a lovely weekend with the children.

With best wishes

Ken James
