I hope you have had a wonderful time with the children and I would like to wish you the very best for the forthcoming year. I’d done a few miles criss-crossing the country but am now looking forward to seeing the children on their return.
The staff have been in school for the last couple of days undertaking training in various areas – first aid, risk assessments to name but two – and liaising with colleagues to ensure the term ahead will be as productive as possible.
We welcome back Mrs Pamela Camm who is joining the English Department. Mrs Camm is an experienced teacher (to A level) and was last at Red House to cover Mrs Fryer’s maternity leave. Mrs Camm will be sharing Mr Brown’s English classes as he moves to teaching part-time. Mrs Fryer has split the English curriculum appropriately and we are certain this arrangement will strengthen our provision within the department. Mrs Camm will also share responsibility with Mr Brown for 10B during tutor time.
Mr Tony Plunkett and Mr Mark Thomas have joined our maintenance team. Both are experienced school caretakers and I am sure they are looking forward to working with us as we continue our programme of refurbishment.
Yes, it’s almost that time of the year again. Our next Open Morning is 26 January but the timings have changed slightly: we’re open from 9am-12noon. Please encourage friends to attend and it’s worth reminding them that places for Year 7 in September are limited (we currently have only 3 places unallocated).
With best wishes
