We had an eventful start this morning on the P&S site: the firemen were here to check out a smell of burning. Thankfully, there wasn’t a fire, just a light fitting ready for retirement and all is well. Some children were overheard talking about gas explosions and major incidents so I thought you would prefer to hear about it from me!
Thank you to those parents who supported this event. We received very positive feedback from the families who looked around and a number have progressed their applications for places at Red House.
We have a lot of games kit which is un-named and lots of complaints about missing kit. My parents hated stitching name labels on clothing so they found an easy solution; they taught me to sew. Whilst I’m now adept at curtains and coordinating soft furnishings, all we’re asking is for the children to sew their names inside their clothing. Failing this, permanent markers work well too.
I’m sorry there have been further difficulties this week. I can assure you that the bus company endeavours to adhere strictly to the timetable but adverse weather and problems on the A19 will always cause difficulties. Should you have concerns about the service on a particular morning, reception is staffed from 7.30am.
Holiday Club & Sports Club
Please note that the cut-off date for bookings for both clubs is Wednesday 31 January. This gives us sufficient time to organise appropriate staffing for the planned activities.
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
The rehearsals for the choir are now taking place on Wednesday lunchtimes and we are delighted with the number of children involved. As our cast has grown significantly over the last two weeks we would like to remind parents of the important dates coming up. The show will be over four nights – Wednesday 21 March to Saturday 24 March – and there will be a dress rehearsal on Sunday 18 March. The main cast needs to attend this rehearsal from 10am-4pm and the choir members need to be in school for the afternoon session 1pm-4pm.
The Art Department is helping to make costumes for the main cast. The choir will be wearing printed T-shirts, which we will order, so we shouldn’t require any help from parents with costumes beyond the children having a pair of jeans.
Please find attached letters advertising our Family Quiz and the Glitter Ball. It would be wonderful to see lots of families supporting these very enjoyable events.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
With best wishes
