Many children and parents attended the first Red House fireworks party to be held on the School’s field.

Food was provided courtesy of our catering team, Chris and Mel, and served by them and members of the PTA. The glow sticks and other light toys were a great hit and the ‘Pumpkin Parade’ demonstrated the artistic and imaginative skills of the children.

My thanks to Steve Harll and his team for an excellent firework display, the PTA for the tremendous effort in organising the evening and my colleagues who also helped out on the night. I do hope that this will now become a regular event on the Red House calendar.

The PTA AGM held last month saw the end of an era with Lucie Fleming standing down as Chair, Jess Masterson as Vice Chair and Jane Greenaway as Secretary.  All three ladies have been stalwarts of the PTA over many years, responsible for the many events that take place to add enjoyment for the pupils, cohesion of the School community and raise funds for the School.  I thank all three for the huge amount of time and effort they have put in to making the PTA so successful.

Janet Craggs will continue as Treasurer, thank you Janet. Lesley Wratten was elected as our new Chair, Bev Bird as Vice Chair and Karen Simpson as Secretary.  All three have worked extremely hard behind the scenes, including organising last year’s excellent Enchanted Garden School Ball, and I am sure you will join with me in wishing the PTA and its new officers every success.
