I hope you have all had a lovely summer break so far and have had an opportunity to enjoy the glorious weather. Since the end of term, school has been very busy with lots of exciting renovations taking place on both sites.
Over the next few weeks, I will be in school ahead of the start of term, and I would relish the opportunity to meet with any parents who would like to pop in for a coffee and a chat. Please contact me at the following address to arrange this: Dr Ashcroft’s email address
GCSE Exam Results and the Year 11 Prom
We are so proud of our amazing Year 11 pupils; they have worked incredibly hard and have shown so much resilience in the unprecedented and very challenging circumstances of the past eighteen months. Yesterday they were rewarded with fantastic GCSE results, which will propel and prepare them for the next exciting stage in their educational journey.
Last night, the Year 11 Prom was held at Judges in Kirklevington. A great night was had by all and it was the perfect end to a highly successful day for the Year 11s and also a great opportunity for them to bid a fond farewell to Mr James. I would like to extend our deepest thanks to the PTA, particularly Janet Craggs, for organising such a tremendous evening. We wish the ‘Class of 2021’ all the best for their future and cannot wait to celebrate with them again at the GCSE Presentation Evening on Wednesday 17 November 2021.

We are very excited to be running a full complement of co-curricular clubs from the week commencing Monday 13 September 2021. Full information is included in the letters below. Please can you email your child/ren club choices to either to me or Mr Haywood by Wednesday 25 August 2021. Parents will receive a confirmation email on Thursday 2 September 2021.
A reminder that if you would like to purchase any items of uniform from the Uniform Shop in preparation for the children returning in September, please email Mrs Morton via the following link: Uniform Shop email address for an appointment.
In a change to previous years, girls from Years 7-11 will have the option to wear long trousers rather than a skirt, should they choose to do so. The trousers must be charcoal grey in colour, full length and tailored with a crease. Skinny fit and cropped trousers are not permitted.
No jewellery is allowed for children from Nursery to Year 10, with the exception of a watch, which pupils may wear from Year 3 onwards. This includes friendship bracelets and sweat bands. Earrings are not allowed in school at any time for pupils in Nursery up to Year 10. Pupils in Year 11 are permitted to wear one pair of earrings. However, they must be worn in the lobe, be at the same level in the lobe and be a plain stud. Earrings must be removed for PE/Games lessons. If ears are to be pierced, this should be arranged at the beginning of the long summer break to allow enough time for the healing process. Other piercings are not permitted.
Ahead of the first day of term, Monday 6 September 2021, please can parents ensure that their child/ren hair conforms to the Red House rules and is neat, natural in colour and not too ostentatious. Full details of this can be found in the parent handbooks.
Return to School
We are keenly awaiting final confirmation guidance from the Government regarding start of term arrangements and we will be sending out a further Pupil Post in the week commencing Monday 23 August 2021. This will include information with regards to testing Year 7-11 pupils in school ahead of the start of term, start times, entrance points and confirmation that pupils will wear school uniform from September and bring PE/Games kit in their PE bags.
With very best wishes
Dr Rebecca Ashcroft
