The school holidays have continued to be a super busy time in school with lots of exciting refurbishments taking place. In the Junior School, the Barn has been fully renovated; whilst over on the Senior School site, the Chemistry and Physics laboratories have been remodelled and are now in line with the Biology lab which was beautifully modernised two years ago, and a number of teaching spaces have received a full make over, ready for when the children return on Monday 6 September 2021.
Return to School Guidance
Please see at the bottom of Pupil Post, guidance for parents on the return to school from Mr Haywood and me. The ‘Return to School’ documents are based on recommendations from the Government, published on 16 August 2021, and includes information with regards to testing Year 7-11 pupils in school in the first week of term, start times and entrance points, and school uniform.
COVID-19 Testing for Pupils in Years 7-11
Full details on the two testing dates in school are detailed in the ‘Return to School’ guidance contained at the bottom of this letter. Following these two ‘in school’ tests, the pupils should continue to be tested at home on a twice-weekly basis. We will be providing you with two boxes of kits per pupil on Friday 10 September 2021. These boxes will be given to your child to bring home.
Please note that the type of LFT may be different to the ones you have previously used. Therefore, please read through the instructions carefully to ensure that the test is administered correctly. Please see at the bottom of Pupil Post guidance from NHS track and Trace for ‘Parents with children at nurseries, schools and colleges: A guide to regular rapid Covid-19 testing’.
Junior School News
After 38 years of teaching, including 20 years of full time service at Red House School and following a milestone birthday, Mrs Summers has chosen to relinquish her role as Assistant Head and reduce her hours. She has been a phenomenal leader of the Junior School and we are delighted that she remains so passionate about teaching. Mrs Summers will continue to manage the English curriculum and share responsibility for one of the Year 5 forms from September.
Thank you to parents who have already signed their child/ren up for the co-curricular clubs. Parents will receive a confirmation email from School on Thursday 2 September 2021.
Term Dates for 2022-2023
We are keeping a very watchful eye on Stockton Borough Council’s website for the publication of their term dates for 2022-2023. Once these have been published, we will announce our dates. A reminder that the term dates for this academic year can be found by clicking on the following link: Red House School 2021-22 Term Dates
Mrs Morton is offering three drop in days on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday next week, 10am until 3pm, for anyone who would like to purchase any items of uniform, in preparation for the children returning in September.
I hope you all have a wonderful Bank Holiday weekend.
With very best wishes
Dr Rebecca Ashcroft
