Dear Parents

It’s been lovely to see Red House participating in Children in Need today.  I know we have raised a huge amount of money and I would like to thank you for your support.  The Junior School even received a visit from Pudsey Bear, although I suspect I was rumbled…

Red House AGM

You will have received an email on Wednesday with information about our AGM on Wednesday 25 November. The meeting will be virtual this year and anyone wishing to attend should email The paperwork also includes information pertaining to membership of School Council.

PTA Virtual Quiz Night

Please remember to register for this event if you have not done so already.  It is being held on Friday 20 November at 7pm and you can register by clicking here, giving your email address so that we can send you a Zoom invitation in advance.

Junior School T-towels

The PTA is kindly organising, once again, the production of the Junior School T-towels, resplendent with the pupils’ own self -portraits.  If you would like to order some in time for Christmas, the letter from the PTA can be found here.  Please order as soon as possible: we have run out in the past.

Well-being Survey

Thank you to those parents who completed the survey.  We are now considering your responses and establishing the very best ways we can support the children together.

Year 11 Mock Examinations

I would like to wish the pupils in Year 11 the very best of luck for their exams next week.  I know many of them have worked extremely hard, fearing exams may not happen in the summer.  However, they should also remember that mock results will be only one indicator of performance should the summer exams not take place and we are fully aware that pupils can significantly improve upon their performance between November and June.  Of course, we are still being told the exams will take place in England, albeit a little later than usual.

I hope you have a lovely weekend and the children are not too dejected during lockdown.  I now live in Whitby full-time so I suspect I’m heading for a bracing walk and well-earned fish and chips.  I’m just hoping the town is a little quieter than when I last visited.

With best wishes

Ken James
