Dear Parents

Across both sites, we are in ‘full-on’ planning mode, preparing for the imminent Christmas festivities. On the last day of term, the pupils will be enjoying a Christmas-inspired assembly, quizzes, dingbats, snowball dodgeball, a Christmas sing-a-thon with hot chocolate, a chocolate tombola, Christmas mindfulness crafting and a Christmas party, with pizzas from Dominos. In the Senior School, there will be Christmas films in form groups and the children in the Junior School are expecting a very special visitor from the North Pole! In addition, we are supporting Save the Children and the children have been invited to wear their Christmas jumpers.

Reindeer Run for Teesside Hospice (Years 3-11)

In the last two weeks of this term, pupils in years 3-11 will be donning their antlers and participating in our very own Reindeer Run to support a very worthwhile local charity, Teesside Hospice and further information can be found here.

Stockton Council’s Christmas Tree Trail

Red House School is delighted to be hosting a Christmas tree on the Senior School field, as part of Stockton Council’s Christmas Tree Trail. Members of the public are encouraged to view as many trees on the trail as possible. The trees will then all be displayed in a rainbow effect at North Tees Hospital for Christmas Eve.

Indoor trainers

Over the past week, there have been a number of pupils, both in the Junior and Senior School, who have been walking around school in their socks on the days they wear their PE kit. Please can you remind your child that they need have a pair of indoor trainers/school shoes to wear whilst they are in the school building and a pair of trainers/football boots for outdoor breaks.

‘Cash for Kids’ and Christmas Hampers for the Food Bank

This year, the Junior School is supporting the ‘Cash for Kids’ appeal and asking pupils to donate a new toy for a child less fortunate for Christmas. Please can your child bring their toy donation in by Tuesday 8 December. The deadline for pupils in the Senior School to bring food items for the Christmas hampers is Friday 4 December.

Nut-free school

Red House School is a nut-free school. We do not allow nuts or nut products in school. This is to reduce the risk to those children and adults who may suffer an anaphylactic reaction if exposed to nuts to which they are sensitive. The following items, are examples of foodstuffs, which should not be brought into school:

  • Packs of nuts
  • Peanut butter sandwiches
  • Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts
  • Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts
  • Sesame seed snacks and bread rolls (children allergic to nuts may also have a severe reaction to sesame)

Many thanks for your support.

Junior School Tea Towels

Mr Haywood has reported to me that the Junior School tea towels are selling really well. If you would still like to place an order, the deadline for doing so is Tuesday 8 December 2020.  Please send your order to Junior School Office

Holiday Club and Sports Camp

There are only a small number of spaces left in the Holiday Club and Sports Camp for the week 14 – 18 December. If you would like to book a place for your child/children, please find details here, including the booking form.

I hope you all have a restful weekend.

With very best wishes
