It was lovely to see the children resplendent in yellow today to support the mental health charity Young Minds. We continue to review our mindfulness programme and I met with Dr Ashcroft and Mrs Cooper recently to agree a strategy. We will be contacting all parents soon with a brief survey.
We have taken the difficult decision to cancel the trip due to go in December. Parents affected by this decision should have received a separate email but a copy of the information can be found here. Whilst I always avoid disappointing the children, I do think it was the right decision in these uncertain times.
As you are aware, we are using the Senior School Hall and the Barn for a number of different purposes during the school day. They are also being cleaned regularly during the day, particularly between bubbles. This means we are unable to offer our usual full service of hot meals. However, after half term, we will be offering the children a hot meal on rotation. Needless to say, we cannot wait for the day normal service can resume.
Year 11 Mocks
Attached is the timetable for the mock examinations after half term. Whilst we want the pupils to perform well in these examinations, they must not place undue stress upon themselves. It’s worth remembering that the mock grades last year were merely one measure which helped us to decide the final GCSE grades awarded to the pupils in very unusual circumstances. Pupils were not just awarded the grades they achieved in their mocks.
Thank you to those parents who ‘attended’ our virtual PTA meeting. Whilst the events we can run this year will be limited, I’m delighted a number of parents have volunteered to help provide those little extras which benefit the children so much.
Thank you to those families who have already donated. Please remember that the deadline for sending items into school is next Friday.
I hope you have a lovely weekend.
With best wishes
