Today we’ve been holding interviews for our new Head of the Senior School/Deputy Head, starting in September 2020. Members of School Council, our Senior Management Team and the children have all been involved in a very thorough process and I hope to be able to share news about the appointment soon.
Teacher of French & Spanish
Mrs Blyth’s departure also means we need to appoint a part-time teacher of French and Spanish. We are currently advertising this position; please direct interested friends towards our website.
I would like to formally welcome Fiona Hunt to School Council. I would also like to thank Stephen Craggs and Amy Witham for their contribution to governance during their time on School Council.
Whilst we have no concerns about the virus at Red House, I though it prudent to share with you the latest advice, particularly now that the Chief Medical Officers have raised the risk from low to moderate.
Public Health England (PHE) is encouraging people to: always carry tissues and use them to catch coughs and sneezes and bin the tissue; wash hands with soap and water, or to use a sanitiser gel, to kill germs. Further advice from PHE can be found my clicking here. Please encourage good practice amongst the children; we will also be encouraging them to do so.
As is always the case, the children should stay at home if they have a bad cough, cold or flu, fever or have been sick. Further information on the specific symptoms of Coronavirus can be found here.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office advises against all travel to Hubei Province in China and against all but essential travel to the rest of mainland China. There is also specific advice for people who have travelled from other parts of Asia. The most recent advice can be found here.
PTA Quiz Night – Friday
There are still a few tickets left for this fun, family event (but not many). Please send your reply slips as soon as possible if you still wish to take part. The form can be found here.
PTA Movie ‘Night’ – Friday 14 February
Don’t forget to send your reply slips into school if the children wish to attend.
This is the final call for members of Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 who would like to be in the chorus of our next production. The cut-off date for returns is next Friday so that we can plan rehearsals, order T- shirts and take photos for the programme. The form can be found here.
With best wishes
