Dear Parents,

Red House has been a hive of creativity and innovation this week, with pupils in the Junior School crafting the most amazing and imaginative eggs for their Easter egg competitions. There was even a sighting of the Easter bunny! The pupils in the Senior School enjoyed watching an assembly, delivered via Teams, about the significance of Easter by Mrs Roberts, Assistant Head (Academic) and Head of RS. A chocolate tombola organised by the PTA was a huge success across both sites, and all pupils and staff were given a delicious Easter egg as a gift from the PTA. What a wonderful treat!

‘Be Inspired’ Easter Challenge

I have set all pupils in the Senior School a ‘Be Inspired’ Easter Challenge over Teams this morning. These tasks are optional and the challenges cover a huge and diverse range of interests and topics, from music to adventure, and from art to innovation. Many of the tasks are suitable for pupils in the Junior School too, should they wish to get involved. The ‘Be Inspired’ Easter Challenges are listed below at the bottom of Pupil Post.

Games and Physical Education in the Summer Term

Please see attached at the end of Pupil Post, a letter from Mrs Sweeney with regards to Games and PE next year for pupils in Years 3-11.  Parents with children in EYFS and KS1 will have received an email via ISAMS from their child’s Form tutor with regards to changes to PE days in the Summer Term. Please let Mr Haywood know if you have not received an email.

COVID-19 Home Testing: Years 7-11

Pupils in Years 7-11 have been given a further supply of 10 tests to bring home this afternoon. This supply will cover your child’s home testing up to and including, 6 May 2021. If your child was absent from school today, please can you call into school to collect their tests during the first week of the Easter break, between 9am and 4pm.

Wellbeing and Mindfulness Initiatives Next Term

I am very excited to announce that from Monday 19 April 2021, all pupils in Years 2-11 will be given an ‘Attitude of Gratitude’ pocket notebook. In form time every morning, pupils will have time to reflect and to consider three things that they are grateful for that day. The simple act of writing down the things for which they are appreciative, can create a burst of positive energy that can have many, long-lasting emotional and physical health benefits. Pupils in the Senior School will also be creating their own ‘little jars of kindness’ within their form to encourage the children to do a good deed and to inspire others to do an act of kindness too!

Parent-Teacher Meetings: Reception-Year 5

Parent-Teacher Meetings will take place on Monday 26 April and Tuesday 27 April 2021 for pupils in Reception to Year 5. These will happen in the form of a telephone call. This will be an opportunity for staff to let you know how your child has readjusted to life back at school. Please find further details in the letter from Mr Haywood at the bottom of Pupil Post.
