Today we said goodbye to Year 11. Their departure was very emotional with some of them celebrating 13 years at Red House. Despite the trials and tribulations of the last few years, they stayed loyal to Red House and have thoroughly enjoyed their time here. We started the day with a special assembly and a rousing rendition of our unofficial school hymn ‘Jubilate’; I’ve never heard it sung with such gusto. Some pupils then visited the Nursery & Infant School to say goodbye and the berets made a welcome return (even if they did not fit!). Their examinations start on Monday and they deserve to see success. They have been tremendous role models to the younger children and they go with our very best wishes.
Summer Fete – Saturday 23 June
The PTA is currently organising the summer fete so that all members of our community can have a fun-filled day next month; let’s hope the weather is kind!
They are seeking donations for the following stalls (please leave items at either school office):
– Wine Tombola
– Kids’ Toy Tombola (any new kids toys/games/stationery would be greatly received – the children love this one and we don’t want to run out by lunchtime)
– Book stall (any unwanted books in good condition please)
If anyone can spare an hour to two on the day whilst the children run around and play, we’d love to hear from you. Any help you can offer running stalls, helping set-up or tidying-up would be greatly appreciated. If you can help, please email:
Please cross your fingers for good weather tomorrow. Red House, like all schools is so much more inviting when the sun is shining. Thank you for helping to get the children here tomorrow and for those members of School Council and the PTA who will be helping to greet families. I’m very much looking forward to meeting our guests and I shall remember to remove my eyeliner before doing so (I’m on stage in Spamalot tonight!).
With best wishes
