Dear Parents
On Wednesday 3rd June, Year 1 will be visiting Beningbrough Hall as part of their history topic on Houses and Homes. They will be travelling by coach (M & D Travel) leaving school at 8.40am and returning in time for the end of school. Please ensure your child is in school for 8.30am.
The programme for the day has been designed to cover the following key areas of learning:
- What were homes like a long time ago?
- What was it like for children living in Victorian Britain?
- How are our toys different from those in the past?
We should like the children to dress appropriately for the historical period:

Pupils are expected to demonstrate excellent behaviour at all times and to follow instructions given both by the accompanying adults and staff at Beningbrough Hall. Pupils are covered under the School’s insurance policy. A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leaders. A qualified first aider will be accompanying the trip. Miss Warnock & Mrs Kitching will lead the trip and will be accompanied by three other adults.
The cost of the trip including entrance and activities is £12 and will be added to the school fees. A packed lunch will be provided by School. The children should bring a small bottle of water and a piece of fruit / biscuit for their morning snack.
Please ensure that you have notified school of any changes to your contact numbers and any new medical conditions for your child and ensure any inhalers/medications are given to your child’s teacher to take on the trip.
