25 March 2015
The end of term has culminated in a crescendo of activities. I know many of you will have been following these on Facebook and Twitter or via the news section of the School’s website. In the past week, children have observed the solar eclipse, made ‘eggcellent’ egg inspired models and met the Easter bunny. As parents you may have come to the Mother’s Day service, the Years 4-6 Easter drama or Prep. and Senior School concert. All these activities allow children to express themselves and are designed to inform and, at the same time, make learning fun.
There have been many out of School trips, including the Nursery visit to a Forrest School and we have had visits from medical students, Olympians and an illustrator. Red House teachers are always looking for new ways to engage and widen the learning experience of the children. On the sports field we have had a very successful term and a number of colours were awarded at the Prep. and Senior School assembly this morning. I am already looking forward to the cricket, athletics and rounders next term.
Looking at the calendar for next term I can see that the pace continues and would highlight the following dates for you:
24 April PTA Ball at Wynyard Hall
9 May Open Morning
17 June Nursery and Reception Sports Day
18 June Years 1-3 Sports Day
18 June Senior Sports Day
19 June Fashion Show
26 June Junior Sports Day
4 July PTA Fete
8 July Prep. and Senior School Prize Giving
9 July Nursery and Infant School Festival of Achievement
I do hope you can attend some of the events listed above. Finally, I wish you a restful and relaxing Easter break.
