The end of term has seen the return of a number of staff from maternity leave. We welcome back
Mrs Robertson and Mrs Mallam at the Nursery and Infant School and we thank Mrs Cooper and Mrs Stewart for their work and wish them all the very best for the future. At the Main School Mrs Bessey has also returned following the birth of her twins.
Mrs Fraser and Mrs Fryer start their maternity leave at the end of this term. Miss Reily, who has previously taught Art at Red House will be covering Mrs Fraser’s classes and Mrs Camm, an experienced teacher of English at both GCSE and A Level, will be covering Mrs Fryer’s classes. I am sure you will join with me in making them feel welcome.
Miss Everington has had her operation which was successful and she is now recovering at home. She will return shortly after the start of the summer term.
The end of the Easter term is always very busy. The children are preparing for the Easter egg competitions and the talent show which will take place in the last week of term. Both these events allow children to display their creative and artistic gifts and talents and, I am sure, will once again prove to be both impressive and entertaining.
The Main School Pupil Council would like the opportunity to have a Lego Club at the Main School. This no doubt stems from the popularity of this Club at the Nursery and Infant School. To assist in setting this up, we would welcome donations from any parents or children who may have Lego that is no longer required. Donations can be left at either School office.
The summer term provides a number of opportunities for parents to join in with School activities. A few are highlighted below:
- PTA Ball – 26 April 2014
- PTA Summer Fete – 28 June 2014
- School Sports Days:
Nursery and Reception – 18 June 2014 at Nursery & Infant School
Years 1-3 – 19 June 2014 at Main School
Years 4-6 – 17 June 2014 at Main School
Years 7-10 – 19 June 2014 at Clairville Stadium
- Main School Prize Giving – 9 July 2014
- Nursery & Infant School Festival of Achievement – 10 July 2014 at Main School
I wish you all a very pleasant Easter break.
A R W Taylor
