As you will be aware, the School was inspected earlier this week by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI). ISI have changed the way they inspect schools. Following discussions with the Department for Education, inspections have been split into two parts. The first looks at the School’s compliance with The Education (Independent School Standards) Regulations (ISSRs) and the statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). The second looks at the quality of teaching and learning that takes place. This week’s inspection was of the first type, a compliance inspection.
I would like to thank the many parents who responded to the questionnaire sent out last Friday. There was a very healthy response with over 100 replies and 92% were happy with the School, which was regarded as high by the inspection team.
The report will be published in about three weeks time. This document, being a summary of our compliance to the ISSRs, will be both dry and short. Unlike earlier inspection reports which give a much fuller flavour of the School.
I can, however, report that the children across the School rose to the occasion and the informal feedback from the inspectors was that they were very impressed by what they saw.
As you may be aware, the School has an Open Morning next Saturday, 7 May 2016. Our best advocates have always been our parents. If you have family, friends or colleagues with children who would benefit from a Red House education, please encourage them to come along. We have many enthusiastic children and teachers who would love to meet with them and show them our wonderful School.
