The English department are currently undertaking a stocktake of resources in preparation for the new KS3 National Curriculum and GCSE specifications.
It is often the case that books are not returned to school by older siblings after their GCSE exams and younger pupils sometimes forget to return class readers. It is therefore our intention to introduce a ‘book amnesty’ box into the school library.
We would be very grateful if you could ask current pupils and older siblings who have left Red House to check if they have any English department books/textbooks/library books that they are not currently using. If they do find any, please ask them to return these books to a clearly marked ‘book amnesty’ box in the library.
This will then allow us to budget accordingly for lots of new reading material, instead of replacing existing books.
