1st May 2015
The Nursery & Infant School Pupil Council members have chosen to support two charities this term, namely Guide Dogs and Candlelighters. Val Hydes talked to the children recently in assembly about being blind and how her dog, Whispa, enabled her to carry out daily activities e.g. shopping more easily. As many of you are aware one of our pupils has been undergoing lengthy medical treatment since December and has been unable to attend school. He has received support from Candlelighters (www.candlelighters.org.uk)and our pupils would like to raise some money for this worthwhile cause.
We shall be holding a ‘Pyjamathon’ on Thursday 21st May on the school field at 2.30pm to which you are welcome to come and watch. We request children bring some pyjamas to school on the Thursday morning and then they will get changed after lunch in time for the event. There will also be a Fairtrade sale at morning break. (60p per item)
We hope that you will be able to support your child by helping them to collect as many sponsors as possible on the attached form. Sponsorship forms need to be brought to school on the day of the event so they can be signed by the form teacher when the pupil has successfully completed the event. We appreciate that some families prefer to make a donation instead of collecting sponsors, which of course is perfectly acceptable. All sponsorship money / donations should be handed to Mrs Green by Friday 12th June.
Thank you in anticipation of your support.
Mr S Haywood
Assistant Head of Nursery & Infant School
