28th  March 2014

Dear Parents,

Nursery visit to RSPB Saltholme, Port Clarence.

Nursery children will be visiting RSPB at Saltholme on Thursday 8th May.  They will depart at 9.10am and will travel by coach, Compass Royston.  The pupils will have a packed lunch in the visior centre, then return to school for the end of the day (3pm).

The children will participate in some ‘hands on’ experiences based on their topic on ‘Mini Beasts’. They will have the opportunity to explore the nature reserve and take part in practical activities.

The children should wear their school jumper and tracksuit bottoms, outdoor coat, hat, scarf and gloves.  The children will wear either trainers or wellington boots depending upon the weather on the day.  Pupils are expected to demonstrate excellent behaviour at all times and to follow instructions given by both the accompanying adults and the staff at the park.

Pupils are covered under the school’s insurance policy.  A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the leader.  A qualified first aider will be accompanying the trip. There will be charge of £7.60 which will be added to next term’s school fees.

Mr McKay will lead the visit and will be accompanied by other nursery staff and parent volunteers.  If you are able to volunteer, please complete the slip below and return to Mr McKay via the school office. Please complete the attached consent form and return to Mrs Green by Friday 28th March.

We endeavour to take photographs on as many school trips as possible, please visit our website, Facebook and twitter pages to see a selection of photographs.

Yours sincerely,

Mr I McKay
