Reception Trip to Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth and the Souter Lighthouse: Wednesday 11th June 2014
As part of our topic ‘under the sea / seaside’, Reception pupils will be visiting the Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth and Souter Lighthouse on Wednesday 11th June 2014
The object of the visit is to learn more about creatures that live under the sea. The children will have the opportunity to see and touch a number of sea life creatures in the ‘touchy feely’ workshop and visit a working lighthouse in the afternoon.
We shall be travelling by coach (Compass Royston) leaving school promptly at 9.00am so it is vital all children are in school by 8:45am. A packed lunch, water and snack will be provided by school. We will return to school at approximately 3.15pm.
During the day we will be engaged in various indoor and outdoor activities. Pupils should wear their normal school uniform with an outdoor coat. We also advise that sun cream of the ‘once a day’ type should be applied before school.
Pupils are expected to demonstrate excellent behaviour at all times and to follow instructions given by accompanying adults and the centre staff.
Pupils are covered under the School’s insurance policy. Mrs Waldock and Miss Dring will lead the trip. A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leaders. A qualified first aider will be accompanying the trip. We would like a few parents to act as assistant leaders on the trip. If you are available to assist please complete the attached sheet and return to Mrs Green.
The cost of the trip will be £17 which will be added to the next term’s school fees
We endeavour to take photographs on as many school trips as possible, please visit our website, Facebook and twitter pages to see a selection of photographs.
