5th February 2016
February 9th 2016 is Safer Internet Day, a day that is very important to our school and pupils.
We believe that internet safety education is a crucial element of the curriculum and an essential part of young people’s development. To promote internet safety pupils will be involved in activities both on the day and during the week.
In the UK, Safer Internet Day is organised by the UK Safer Internet Centre (www.saferinternet.org.uk), and this year’s theme is “Play your part for a better internet!”
The day offers the opportunity to highlight positive uses of technology and to explore the role we all play in helping to create a better and safer online community. It calls upon young people, parents, carers, teachers, social workers, law enforcement, companies, policymakers, and wider, to join together in helping to create a better internet.
A fact sheet has been attached to provide further information and the following site can also be accessed to promote internet safety:
We hope you will reinforce the importance of internet safety with your child at home.
