9th May 2014
On Tuesday 3rd June, Year 1 will be visiting Ormesby Hall as part of their history topic on Houses and Homes. They will be travelling by coach (Compass Royston) leaving school at 9.00am and returning in time for the end of school.
The programme for the day has been designed to cover the following key areas of learning:
- What were homes like a long time ago?
- What was it like for children living in Victorian Britain?
- How are our toys different from those in the past?
We should like the children to dress appropriately for the historical period: suggested ideas: Boys:Short trousers with long socks or long trousers tucked into socks, waistcoat, neck tie, flat cap, dark shoes.
Girls: long skirt, blouse, pinafore/apron, shawl, mop cap, dark shoes
Pupils are expected to demonstrate excellent behaviour at all times and to follow instructions given both by the accompanying adults and staff at Ormesby Hall. Pupils are covered under the school’s insurance policy. A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leaders. A qualified first aider will be accompanying the trip.
Mrs Kitching and Mrs Waller will lead the trip.
The cost of the trip including entrance and activities is £8.50 and will be added to the school fees. A mid-morning snack and a packed lunch will be provided by school.
