Dear Parents,

Year 1 Visit to Railway Museum, Shildon.

Year 1 children will be visiting the Railway Museum on Thursday 5th February. They will depart at 9.15am and travel by coach (M & D Travel) and will return to school in time for the end of school.

During the visit, the children will participate in story workshops, as well as visiting the museum exhibitions and experiencing a short ride on a diesel train. The visit supports this term’s topic on journeys.

The children should wear their normal school uniform. Pupils are expected to demonstrate excellent behaviour at all times and to follow instructions.

Pupils are covered under the Parental consent form and the School’s insurance policy. A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leaders. A qualified first aider will be accompanying the trip which will be led by Mrs Kitching and Miss Warnock. Four additional adults will accompany the children.

The children will be provided with a mid morning snack and packed lunch. Children may bring a maximum of £4 spending money, which should be handed to their form teacher in a small named purse or envelope on the morning of the visit.

The cost of the trip will be £11.75 and will be added to the next term’s school fees.

We endeavour to take photographs on as many school trips as possible, please visit our website, Facebook and twitter pages to view a selection of photographs.

Please ensure that you have notified school of any changes to your contact numbers and any new medical conditions for your child and ensure any inhalers/medications are given to your child’s teacher to take on the trip.

Yours sincerely

Mrs Kitching                                                               Miss Warnock
