Year 1 Visit to Blackwell’s Butchers- May 5th (Afternoon)

As part of our termly topic on ‘We Are Britain’ the pupils in Year 1 will be visiting Blackwell’s Butchers on Norton Green to learn how to make sausages. The children will learn where the meat used in making sausages comes from and observe how the meat is prepared and fed into the sausage skins. The children will have the opportunity to practise linking the sausages. The children will not be eating any sausages.

The children should wear their normal school uniform. Pupils are expected to demonstrate excellent behaviour at all times and to follow instructions. Pupils are covered under the Parental consent form and the School’s insurance policy. A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leaders. A qualified first aider will be accompanying the trip which will be led by Miss Warnock and Mrs Kitching.

We endeavour to take photographs on as many school trips as possible, please visit our website, Facebook and twitter pages to view a selection of photographs.

Please ensure that you have notified school of any changes to your contact numbers and any new medical conditions for your child and ensure any inhalers/medications are given to your child’s teacher to take on the trip.

Please complete the slip below to give your consent to your child taking part in this outing and handling/not handling the sausages. If you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact your child’s teacher.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs B Kitching & Miss N Warnock
