Year 2 Trip to Fountains Abbey
As part of our Religious Studies topic about the life of St. Bede, Year 2 will be visiting Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire on Wednesday 8th June. The object of the visit is to learn about the lives of monks who lived in the abbey. The children will have the opportunity to combine history with an element of literacy as they spend the day in the life of a monk.
We will be travelling by coach, (M & D Travel) and will be leaving school at 8.50am. We will return to School at approximately 4.00pm.
The children should wear their school P.E polo shirt, tracksuit top, bottoms and trainers. They should also bring their School waterproof coat. The children also require a small backpack for their packed lunch, which will be provided. The children may also bring a small named bottle of water.
Please could you ensure if your child suffers from asthma or severe allergic reactions that the appropriate medication is given to their teacher on the day, without this they will not be allowed to go on the trip.
Pupils are expected to demonstrate excellent behaviour at all times and to follow instructions. Pupils are covered under the School’s insurance policy. A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leaders Mrs Summers and Mr Reed. A qualified first aider will be accompanying the trip.
The cost of the trip is £11.00, which will be added to the next term’s School fees.
We endeavour to take photographs on as many School trips as possible, please visit our website, Facebook and twitter to view a selection of photographs.
