16 September 2016
Year 5 pupils will visit Middleham Castle and Forbidden Corner on Thursday 6th October 2016. The pupils will explore the castle in the morning and then visit the maze and gardens in the afternoon to inspire creative writing in English.
The trip will cost £8 and this will be added to your spring term account. Pupils will leave school at 9.00 am and return to school at approximately 3.50pm for pupils to be collected as normal at the end of the school day. We will travel to and from the venue on school minibuses. Parents will be informed if the return time changes.
Pupils should wear their school PE kit (white polo shirt, hoodie, tracksuit bottoms and a waterproof jacket). If your child suffers from asthma or severe allergic reactions, please ensure their inhaler/medication/epipen is with them. If they do not have them, they will be unable to go on the trip. (Medication must be clearly labelled with your child’s name). A packed lunch will be provided for pupils and children can also bring a snack as they would for a break time. Children may not bring chewing gum and drinks must be in a re-sealable plastic bottle only.
Pupils can bring a small amount of money (£5 maximum) with which to buy souvenirs if time permits.
A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leader and a qualified first aider will accompany the pupils. The trip will be subject to the conditions as set out in the Parent Contract and will be covered by the school’s insurance policy. Pupils are not allowed to bring any personal items such as mobile phones or cameras. We endeavour to take photographs on as many school trips as possible. Please visit our website, facebook and twitter pages to view a selection of photographs.
