Year 6 Hindu Temple Visit
I have arranged for all Year 6 pupils to visit the Hindu Temple, Westgate Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, on Thursday 12th November. All Year 6 pupils spend the Autumn term studying Hindu beliefs about God and this trip would be an opportunity to bring the curriculum to life. The visit will involve exploring the place of worship and a workshop incorporating dressing up in Indian costume, a demonstration of the traditional arti ceremony as practiced by Hindus, the playing of Indian musical instruments and storytelling.
We will depart Red House at 9.30am and will return in time for normal pick up at 4.00pm. Pupils will be transported to the temple on the School minibus’. A traditional vegetarian lunch will be provided at the temple. The cost of this visit is £4:00 per pupil.
Normal school rules will apply, including the wearing of uniform, the prohibition of sweets and chewing gum.
A full risk assessment has been undertaken by the group leaders. A qualified first aider will accompany the pupils. Please ensure if your child suffers from Asthma or severe allergic reactions their inhaler/medication/epipen is in school, if they do not have them, they will be unable to go on the trip. The trip will be subject to the conditions as set out in the Parent Contract, and will be covered by the school’s insurance policy.
Personal items such as, personal stereos, iPods or cameras are not allowed. The school cannot be held responsible for the care of these items if any pupil brings them, and insurance will not cover them. We endeavour to take photographs on as many school trips as possible, please visit our website, Facebook and twitter pages to view a selection of photographs.
If you have any questions regarding this visit please do not hesitate to contact me either via the school office or email email@example.com
