Futuroscope theme park & the Loire Valley visit Years 7-10

Saturday 1st – Wednesday 5th April, 2017

Dear Parents

I am planning a five day visit to France for pupils in Years 7-10 during the first week of the Easter holiday, from Saturday 1st to Wednesday 5th April 2017. We are going to be travelling to France by coach, which will remain with us throughout the trip.

We will be staying in the Hotel Campanile, which is a 3 star hotel located close to one of France’s most visited attractions; the truly unique theme park of Futuroscope. This hotel is also well-located for exploring the Loire Valley, which is without doubt one of Europe’s most diverse regions in terms of its landscape, history, châteaux, vineyards and culinary traditions.

We will spend a full day in Futuroscope, exploring a huge range of attractions devoted to image, audiovisual techniques and special effects. We will also visit some of the famous Châteaux of the Loire Valley, including the châteaux de Chenonceau and Amboise, which will provide us with an insight into French history and tradition. We shall also visit the Royal City of Loches, the historical town of Saumur and Montrésor, the “most beautiful village in France”. We shall also sample the delights of a quaint pâtisserie/chocolaterie, which was founded in Amboise in 1913.

During the visit your son/daughter will be encouraged to use their knowledge of French in real situations and to look around the places they visit more discerningly; to share experiences to bond, and to see the world in a whole new light. We will be travelling through the NST Travel Group ltd which is an Assured Member of the School Travel Forum (STF), an awarding body for the prestigious Learning Outside the Classroom Quality Badge and the benchmark provider for good school tours.

The cost of the trip, including transport, accommodation, breakfast and evening meals, all entrance fees and insurance, is £520. The only additional costs would be your child’s lunches and pocket money.

If you would like your child to participate, please complete the form below and payment Friday 1st July.

Please can you either send a cheque for £150 made payable to Red House School with your slip or alternatively pay direct to the school bank, using the following information:

  • Sort Code – 30-98-13
  • Account Number – 01776186
  • Bank – Lloyds Bank plc

If you choose to pay direct please ensure that you use an easily identifiable reference code, eg French trip and your childs name. It would also be helpful if you could put the reference you use on the reply slip below.

Please note that money may not be refunded if at a later date your son/daughter is unable to attend as the School is unable to fully recover the amount paid to the trip organiser.

Please also note that our trip to France is always very popular and places will be reserved strictly in order of receipt of reply slip. Therefore, to avoid disappointment, make sure your form is returned to me as soon as possible.

Yours faithfully

Mme J Burel
