We are delighted that Red House School has once again been revealed as the top school in the whole of the North in our category in the 2020 Sunday Times ‘Parent Power’ list.
Judged on 2,000 schools in the UK, Parent Power is widely acknowledged as the most authoritative survey of the country’s best schools. It assesses academic results as well as the performance of a given school compared to others in the same town, local authority and nationally.
We are proud that our school is built upon an ethos of encouraging children to develop their interests and talents, and fully participating in the life of our busy school, offering a very personal and unique family atmosphere. Being a small school, teaching staff know all of our pupils individually and work with them to achieve their best – something evidenced by our incredible GCSE results in 2019.
Ken James, Headmaster at Red House School, said: “Achieving the top position in the whole of the North for the second year running in our category, really is testament to the great work of our staff here at Red House. Our school is going from strength to strength and our recent inspection, by the independent schools inspection team, affirmed this by officially rating Red House as ‘Excellent’, the highest rating, in both categories.
We are continuing to invest heavily throughout the school. Our new Music School features a recording studio, rehearsal space and practice rooms which demonstrates our commitment to the Performing Arts. Our new spacious and tranquil Zen Den allows children to practise techniques to build awareness of their minds and emotions. We are proud to have our very own enchanted outdoor classroom enabling the benefits of outdoor learning to be gained continuously throughout the year. Pupils are also enjoying our new Learning Hub, science labs and all-weather Astroturf pitch.
There is currently an unprecedented level of interest in Red House School and we are soon expecting to be oversubscribed in a number of year groups.
