I was delighted to be chosen to be this year’s Head Boy at Red House School. I thoroughly enjoy spending time in the Drama department. I have devoted a lot of time to the different shows and productions that the school has performed. These have included ‘Oliver!’, ‘Joseph’ and ‘Bugsy Malone’ – all of which I loved doing and is an opportunity that I am glad I had.

My favourite subjects in school are English and History. I like English because I find looking into deeper meanings of literature is very interesting. I also find History very fascinating as the syllabus is very diverse and the range of topics we cover never becomes lacklustre or unexciting.

I think that Red House School is an excellent and inspiring school and I am glad, and extremely lucky, to be a part of it.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to be the Red House School Head Girl for the academic year 2020/2021 – a truly unique and challenging year as we adapt to a ‘new norm’ with the global pandemic crisis.

Red House School is a great place to learn and grow both educationally and socially. Giving us a strong foundation for academic growth and development, whilst at the same time encouraging and developing our love of sports, music and the arts.

As this year’s Head Girl, I am really looking forward to sharing my Red House experience with others, helping them to make the most of what being part of the Red House family offers and shaping their futures.

I am thrilled to take on the role and have the opportunity to be Deputy Head Boy for the academic year 2020/2021. Red House is a great place for learning, it has given me the freedom in my sport to experience new things and become a better athlete overall.

Academically, I feel very confident, as the facilities we use are brilliant and the teachers are very supportive no matter what your ability is for each subject. My favourite subjects are PE, Design Technology and Maths because I find them very interesting and enjoy learning about them.

I play for the Red House rugby, cricket, hockey and football teams. I have also taken part in cross country and athletic events too. Rugby is my strongest sport and Red House has given me the possibility to improve greatly. I have received sports colours for rugby and I now play for County Durham, alongside my club rugby team, West Hartlepool. This has been very rewarding and I hugely appreciate the opportunities I have been given, particularly by my PE teacher, Mr Kitching.

I am looking forward to the step-up in responsibility as Deputy Head Boy, as it will allow me to branch out and communicate with different communities within the school.

Having been a pupil at Red House School for 12 years, I was thrilled to be appointed the role of Deputy Head Girl. I feel this role gives me a great responsibility in school and I cannot think of a more rewarding way to spend my final year here.

During my years at Red House, I have enjoyed representing the school in netball and hockey, especially playing netball at a county level. Alongside this, I loved being a part of various school performances and playing a leading role in both ‘Oliver!’ and ‘Joseph’. Additionally, being questioner on the public speaking team has helped me improve in confidence and develop new skills. My favourite subjects are Spanish and French, both of which I am doing at GCSE. I love learning languages and intend to continue this at A level.

With my role as Deputy Head Girl, I am looking forward to contributing to a positive change. I aspire to work as a team with my fellow pupils, to provide a bridge between the pupils and the teachers, and to be a strong role model for the younger children.
