The Department for Education has published its tables detailing how well each school in the country has performed in the 2019 GCSE examinations. Red House School has once again been ranked the number 1 independent school in the area.

Dr Rebecca Ashcroft, Head of Red House School, said:

“We are delighted to have been ranked the highest performing independent school in the North East in the Government Attainment 8 table. I am extremely proud of our pupils for their hard work and determination. The dedication of our teachers along with the support from parents have produced these tremendous results.

Red House School has been ranked the highest in the Government tables over a number of years.  We continue to go from strength to strength and our recent inspection, by the independent schools inspection team, affirmed this by officially rating Red House as ‘Excellent’, the highest rating, in both categories. Red House has also been recognised as the top school in the whole of the North in its category in the 2020 Sunday Times ‘Parent Power’ list,”.

Dr Ashcroft continued:

“At Red House we encourage children to not only achieve their full potential academically but to excel in all aspects of school life. Through sport, music and our wide range of co-curricular activities we develop their skills and broaden their experiences enabling them to become confident, well rounded young people, equipped and excited for the world ahead of them.

Red House School has a unique family atmosphere. Teachers and parents work closely together to ensure pupils achieve their very best. Small class sizes are maintained so that teachers are able to recognise and nurture individual talents”.

There is currently an unprecedented level of interest in Red House School and we are soon expecting to be full in a number of year groups. Early registration is highly recommended for families wishing to join us. Please contact Claire Bellerby, Head of Admissions on 01642 558119 or email for further information.
